Queen L. Hibbler's Portfolio

Queen L. Hibbler is a queer, Black artist that is pursuing a flourishing career in art therapy & counseling, as well as discovering her artistic voice in writing and animation. In the current political climate Black femme identifying people are constantly being criticized, micromanaged, ridiculed and spoken down to. In spite of how society feels Black femmes will continue to prevail above all of this and be the heroes of their own story. With that in mind, Queen feels that her work is important in illustrating the beauty behind this. Finding beauty in being a nominated martyr is an example of why Black people, for the most part, are the subject of my work. It’s something about the gestures of Black femmes. In the way they walk, talk, and dress, even with a particular stance or facial expression they are able to display a vast range of emotions.
